NeverMiss helps people in Vermont find things to do. This page explains exactly what we keep, why, and how to get rid of it. It describes how the app actually works, not how we would like it to sound.
We use Google Analytics to see how the site is used: which pages people read, what kind of device and browser they use, roughly where they are (Google works out the area from the connection), and which site or link sent them. It sets cookies in your browser so it can tell a return visit from a first one. Google keeps this under its own privacy policy. We see totals and trends, not people.
We never send Google your email address, your account, or what you like and skip. Before a page reports to Google, we strip anything private out of its web address, such as the code in an unsubscribe link. To opt out, Google offers a browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, and most ad blockers stop it too.
NeverMiss shows no ads today. We expect to, because ads are how a free site pays for itself. Before the first one appears, this page will name the ad company, say what it collects, and say how to opt out.
Your account, your email and what you like and skip are not for sale. Not to advertisers, not to venues, not to anyone. We do not share individual accounts with third parties. If that ever changes we will say so here first and ask you before it applies to you.
Two emails go out without you asking: the link to confirm your address when you sign up, and a reply if you send us an event. Everything else waits until you say yes, with a tick box at sign-up that starts unticked. Every alert has a working unsubscribe link, one click, no sign-in needed.
For as long as you have an account. What you like and skip counts for less as it gets older. Anything you have not picked in about six months counts for half as much, and in time it stops counting at all, so the feed follows you if your interests change. Clearing your taste profile or deleting your account removes it straight away. Saved events drop off your profile once the event is over, and disappear entirely if it leaves our database.
The one thing we keep on purpose is your "Been there" list, events you marked as going, after they have happened. That is the point of it: a record of what you did that does not vanish when a venue takes the listing down. Marking yourself as not going removes it, and deleting your account deletes all of it.
NeverMiss is not aimed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has created an account, email us and we will delete it.
If this page changes materially we will update the date above and, if it affects what we do with existing data, tell account holders by email.
